The F-501 is a camera with an electronically controlled shutter. This means you will need 4 AAA batteries to be able to operate the camera.

It uses Nikon F-mount lenses.

The F-501 is a hidden gem. As the successor to the Nikon F301 it was one the first Nikon SLR that didn’t have an advance lever. Like the F-301 it can read DX coding, making it a breeze to shoot on the go. It can be shot in full manual mode or in aperture priority, program or high-speed program modes.
