Description:

The Yashica TL Electro-X ITS is a camera with an electronically controlled shutter. This means you will need 1x 4LR44 battery to be able to operate the shutter.

It uses M42 screw mount lenses.

The Yashica TL Electro-X ITS is an incredible yet all too niche camera. It was (one of) the first SLRs with an electronically controlled shutter and features a sturdy metal shutter curtain and a 1/1000s shutter speed. We love the Yashica for its reliability and how repairable they are when damaged. They are a great system for beginners, as good M42 lenses are easy to find and quite affordable.

The ITS version is almost similar to the classic Electro-X except for the flash sync speed of 1/125s (instead of 1/90s).

Due to the age of this camera and the nature of old light meters we can’t guarantee that the light meter still works. This isn’t an issue as the camera will function perfectly without batteries. To meter a scene before taking a picture we recommend using an external light-meter or a light-meter app on your phone. Alternatively you can use the foolproof sunny-16 rule.
